Although small these are packed with detail, from the carved, burnt timbers sticking out the top, ash and cinders, flaking rust to the flickering LED giving a lifelike glow.
It can take hours and hours to get the rust and timber how I like but the end result is worth it.
I spent my happy hours burning wood into my home incinerator, sketching how the light falls on the timber and one of the trickiest tasks in making these is positioning the timber so the LED casts its glow not just through the holes of the barrel but upwards and onto the sides of the wood as it did on the real thing.
As with all my models, each one is unique with different timber, rust positioning, colouring, and ash fall.
They are also sized correctly for 1/76th, OO gauge, model railways, working well near line-side huts, engine sheds, and industrial scenes. Just drill the hole in your baseboard, and connect the red and black wires to a 12v DC power supply. It also works with a 9V battery.
