Model railway brazier, handcrafted & ready to place
A quietly glowing oil drum incinerator, hand-built and weathered for OO gauge layouts. The drum is fitted with an orange/yellow flickering LED that gives a convincing fire effect — warm enough to catch the eye without drawing attention to itself.
The base is finished with surrounding ash and real carved wood in burnt colours, giving it the look of something that's been burning for a good while. The drum itself is adapted from a 3D-printed form, then extensively weathered by hand — rusted metal, heat discolouration, grime — using acrylic paints and pigment powders for a result that reads as entirely real at layout scale.
It comes pre-wired with a resistor, so fitting is simply a case of connecting the red and black wires to your 12V DC supply. No soldering, no fiddling — just connect and it glows. Each one is unique, and as with all pieces from this workshop, made with the kind of care that doesn't show up in a photograph until you're looking at it from six inches away.

Lineside scenes, trackside huts, building sites, goods yards, or anywhere a group of figures might logically gather for warmth. The flickering effect adds life and movement to otherwise static scenery, and it works particularly well as part of a wider scene rather than in isolation. Works equally well on OO gauge and OO9 layouts.
