Every memorable battle takes place somewhere.
Perhaps it’s fought amongst the crumbling remains of a forgotten kingdom. Around an ancient shrine whose purpose has long been lost to history. Across a weathered stone bridge that has carried travellers for centuries, an old farmhouse fiercely contested as a makeshift stronghold, or beneath the silent gaze of a ruined watchtower overlooking the valley below.
These are the places that capture the imagination.
At Little World Workshop, I create handcrafted wargaming terrain and scenery that brings those places to life while giving players meaningful tactical decisions throughout the game. I don’t build generic table dressing; I create scenery that feels like it belongs to a larger, lived-in world—places shaped by weather, time and the stories of countless generations.
Whether you’re looking for one of my handcrafted existing Workshop Originals designs or a completely bespoke commission, every piece is individually built, painted and weathered by hand in my Surrey workshop. I regularly create terrain for 28mm games, alongside scenery for 32mm hero-scale miniatures and 15mm mass-battle systems, tailored the way you play.
If you’d like to discuss an idea, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
The best terrain doesn’t simply look convincing—it makes the game itself more memorable.
A narrow bridge becomes a desperate choke point. A ruined tower dominates the surrounding landscape. Ancient standing stones become an objective both sides are determined to hold, while rocky outcrops, rivers, woodland and ruined walls create opportunities for ambushes, flanking manoeuvres and hard-fought last stands.
When designing a piece, I think about how it will be used as much as how it will look. Terrain should encourage movement, create meaningful tactical decisions, and naturally draw players into the battle without ever getting in the way of gameplay.
The result is scenery that players enjoy interacting with as much as they enjoy looking at—terrain that helps create the memorable moments people still talk about long after the game has ended.
If there’s a single thread running through my work, it’s a fascination with places that feel as though they existed long before your game’s first turn.
Rather than pristine buildings and freshly built settlements, I’m drawn to landscapes that have gradually evolved over centuries. Ancient masonry hidden beneath woodland. Weathered watchtowers overlooking forgotten roads. Shrines reclaimed by ivy. Farmsteads that have survived generations of conflict before finally being surrendered to nature.
These places invite the imagination. Players instinctively wonder who built them, why they were abandoned, and what events unfolded there long before their armies arrived. The battlefield feels larger than the table itself, hinting at a world that continues beyond its edges.
There are two ways to bring Little World Workshop terrain to your table.
Workshop Originals are my established concepts, handcrafted to order with natural variation from piece to piece.
If you’re looking for something designed specifically around your own ideas, I also create fully bespoke commissions. Starting with your ideas, campaign setting or reference material, I’ll design and build scenery specifically for your gaming table.
| Workshop Originals | Custom Terrain |
|---|---|
| Choose from my existing designs | Start with your own idea |
| Individually handcrafted | Individually designed and handcrafted |

Whichever route you choose, every piece is individually sculpted, painted and weathered by hand. Nothing is mass-produced, and no two pieces are ever completely identical.
Whether adapting one of my Workshop Originals or creating something entirely new, every piece is built to complement both the visual style of your table and the way you play.
Popular commissions include:
Every piece is sculpted, painted and weathered by hand, creating scenery that feels naturally connected rather than a collection of unrelated terrain pieces.
Most of my work is produced for 28mm fantasy skirmish games, role-playing adventures and historical wargames.
I also regularly create terrain for:
Every piece is proportioned around your chosen scale so buildings, ruins and landscape features look convincing while remaining practical to play around.
Although much of my work leans towards fantasy and medieval settings, the same philosophy applies across many different worlds.
Perhaps you’re building an ancient fantasy realm where forgotten shrines still stand beneath towering oaks. A windswept historical frontier marked by lonely watchtowers and scarred farmland.
Whatever the setting, my aim is always the same: to create scenery that feels authentic to its world while enriching the stories unfolding across it.
No two gaming tables are alike.
Whether you choose a Workshop Original or commission something entirely bespoke, every piece will be unique.
Whether you’re adding a single centrepiece or expanding an established gaming table, every piece is designed with the wider landscape in mind.
Great quality little pieces of scatter terrain. They look just the part, well crafted.

Well worth waiting for to be made. Very one-off designs, nice shapes, very well made and finished off to a very good standard. Very pleased.

Every bespoke project begins with a conversation.
You might already have detailed sketches, campaign maps and reference photographs—or simply a rough idea of the atmosphere you’d like to create.
We’ll discuss your preferred scale, the types of terrain you need, how it will work alongside your existing scenery, and the style you’re aiming for before agreeing a design and quotation. Throughout the build, I’ll share regular workshop updates before carefully packing your finished commission for delivery anywhere in the UK, or collection from Surrey.
If you’ve found something you like within the Workshop Originals collection, I’m always happy to discuss whether it can be adapted to suit your own table.

Little World Workshop is an independent miniature workshop based in Surrey.
Every piece is handcrafted using traditional model-making techniques alongside modern tools. Nothing is mass-produced, and no two pieces are ever identical.
I specialise in creating atmospheric scenery inspired by ancient ruins, weathered stonework, forgotten settlements and landscapes where nature has quietly reclaimed the past. Whether creating a Workshop Original or a bespoke commission, every piece is built with the same goal: to create terrain that feels authentic, enhances the game, and becomes a place players genuinely enjoy returning to.

Whether you’re looking for a Workshop Original or a completely bespoke commission, the most memorable gaming tables aren’t simply covered with scenery—they’re filled with places players remember.
Ancient shrines hidden beneath the trees. Weathered bridges defended against impossible odds. Forgotten ruins reclaimed by woodland and fought over once more.
If that’s the kind of world you’d like to bring to your tabletop, I’d love to help create it.
